    HI,

Well it's not as cold as it could be. The north end of this island is on roughly the same latitude as anchorage in Alaska but because of the gulf stream warming the seas round here it's not that cold -3 has been the coldest. But it is humid too. The other day it was -1 in the shed with 75% humidity. I know this because the weather station has eventually come for the dyno.It is the humidity that screws up my phone I think

    Please help.

    HI,

The recent AMP track day and all this talk about Supermoto wheels got me obsessing over the feasibility of a new project. Here's a few starter questions. What the pros / cons of 12 inch vs 17 inch wheels? For a Mini do you have to have a bracket to relocate the front brake? What's better build a mini moto from scratch, or try to find and buy a mini already setup for supermoto?

    Please help.

    HI,

I have been in the process of converting my dual sport Yamaha into a "Supermoto", just a couple years ago there were several factory SM's to choose from and now it looks like that most manufacturers have pulled their SM lineup from the U.S. market. I have thought that Supermoto's give a new rider a "cool" way to break into motorcycling without the high HP drama of Sportbikes and with a very durable and flexible package. Yamaha still offers their WR250x (they have a XT660X overseas..) and KTM has one SM but it's not a road legal machine. Husqvarna has withdrawn also?? Even Suzuki has stopped offering the DRZ400SM on their website. So it's all about the money and obviously the U.S. market has not bought in, if you think you would like to have one it's time to pop for a low mileage DRZ or Husky because they may be rare soon.

    Please help.

    HI,

I know that a lot of you guys are experienced track riders, and some of you ride supermoto. I've read a couple of good threads about what to prepare for when planning a track day. I am planning a weekend at Mcminnville in Oregon, which includes two practice days and a race on Sunday. Never done a track day, never done a road race, very little experience on the 17" wheels. I can't afford new race tyres so will be running with the Pilot Powers I have on there. Kind of sounds like a bad idea when I describe it that way, but in my mind it's a great idea! Curious what you all would suggest as far as gearing, riding tips, mental prep, etc. Knee down, or leg out? I can't imagine dragging my knee on the dirt bike but my buddy raves about it. I'll be riding my KTM 450 EXC, with the 13/50 gearing unless that sounds like way too low. Bike will probably top out at about 90 (screaming bloody murder) with that gear ratio Thoughts?
